The MAG 4300 series of metal separators, used in glass recycling, removes metal contaminants eg aluminium, steel or lead from glass cullet. The cullet is widened on an external feeder and reaches the glass slide where the pieces are further individualised before continuing into the inspection area of the multi-channel metal detector. If a metal contaminant is detected microprocessors determine its exact location. Electronics evaluate this position and ejection nozzles are activated with pinpoint accuracy and at precisely the right time to blow out the contaminant. The ejection nozzles are so precise that the metal contaminants are removed with very little loss of cullet. The rest of the cullet, free of metal contaminants, then continues along the conveyor.

Applying efficient neodymium magnet with a remanence of 12 000 Gauss ferromagnetic particles are reliably separated,which reduces the risk of expensive repairs and plant downtimes. The rotating drum shell is equipped with cleats that continuously strip off all the magnetic contaminants from the system. The rotary motion of the drum shell transports these ferrous materials out of the magnet range where they fall off via a diverter shield.

This system is suitable for a continuous separation of tramp iron and midsized ferrous contamination from various dry bulk materials. A adjust-able 180° magnetic section inside the rotating drum shell attracts the ferrous contaminants and rotates them out of the material flow. After leaving the terminated magnetic field all separated particles fall off the system. Non-ferrous materials pass the drum separator unaffected.
